3 December 2007 - 12 June 2008: post lauream scholarship funded by Regione Lazio (POR Ob. 3, F. S. E. 2000/2006); scientific training at the "Museo di Paleontologia", Sapienza University of Rome. Recovery and catalogation of about 4000 specimens belonging to 189 Pleistocene mollusc species (Scaphopoda, Gastropoda) from Monte Mario (Rome), published and illustrated by Serafino Cerulli Irelli (Paleontographia Italica, 1919, vol. XVI; 1911, vol. XVII).

9 May 2007: Master in Natural Science at "Sapienza" Università di Roma, graduated cum laude; Experimental thesis in paleontology (in Italian): "Systematic revision, geographical and stratigraphical distribution, and palaeoecological analysis of a Tortonian oligotypical molluscan fauna from the Cessaniti area (Calabria, Southern Italy)", under the supervision of prof. D. Esu.

Scientific interests

Palaeobiology; palaeoecology; palaeoclimatology; systematics of Neogene-Quaternary marine and non-marine molluscs; analyses of the structure and composition of marine and non-marine mollusc assemblages for palaeoenvironmental and palaeoclimatic reconstruction; palaeobiology and sequence stratigraphy; museum research (recovering and revision of fossil material belonging to historical collections).
